I’m back. And it’s hot.
I forgot a few things while I was gone, like how the air in Nebraska somehow possesses more gravity than the air in California, and the dining hall food is marinated in butter, and I’m somehow the only female on campus that rocks Vans to and from class and not Birkenstocks.
couldn’t agree more
It’s also hilarious watching the freshmen. They’re usually categorized by the dorky “lanyard necklace” and the look of perpetual confusion in their eyes. You can practically smell their fear. It’s adorable.
Regardless, it’s good to be back. I also have an obligational topic for this post.
I was lucky enough to score the three best suitemates that anybody could have. These three girls have helped change my experience at Creighton from mediocre (at the start) to fabulous (currently). The four of us together is definitely an interesting mix, because we have:
- the responsible one who wants to be bilingual and whom I married on Facebook,
- the crafty dancer with a strangely morbid sense of humor,
- my sassy diva roommate that likes the same music I do, and
- me. I sing in the shower
sometimes all the time (this was a forced correction)
We haven’t even been living together for a week, and I already feel like I live with family. The four of us have gone to Disneyland together, danced it out in countless Zumba classes, laughed at the absolute weirdest stuff and basically been there for each other in every way. We even went shower curtain shopping together. Who does that?
We do. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Except for the fact that the closet in my room smells like nasty feet.
